Counter-battery fighting ongoing near Antonivka Bridge

Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint press center of the Southern Defense Forces, said this on the air of Radio NV, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

When asked whether fighting is taking place near the Antonivka Bridge, Humeniuk said: "Counter-battery fighting remains the main warfare method, and we cannot talk about any more active actions until we can mop up the area from the enemy at a sufficient distance."

She emphasized that the Ukrainian military continues the counter-battery fight and trying to mop up such a strip on the left bank, "so that it would be safer for the civilian population of the right bank."

According to the spokeswoman, the defense forces eliminated 49 occupiers and 15 pieces of equipment, including four boats and an armored vehicle, on the left bank over the past day.

At the same time, Humeniuk pointed out the importance to observe informational silence. "It has its justification because when the front line runs along the Dnipro River, it is an incredibly difficult period when battles are fought for these territories," she said.

Earlier, the UK’s intelligence said that the Ukrainian troops could renew the redeployment of personnel to the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, near the destroyed Antonivka Bridge in Kherson region.
