Number of casualties increases in Kyiv region due to missile attack

In Kyiv region, two children and a grandmother were injured in a missile strike by Russia on Friday, June 16, and more than 30 houses were damaged.

The head of the Kyiv regional police Andriy Nebytov wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Two children and a grandmother were injured and thrown by the blast wave. More than 30 houses were damaged. These are the consequences of an enemy missile strike in the Kyiv region," Nebytov said.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, an 82-year-old woman was injured in Kyiv region as a result of a missile strike by Russia on Friday, June 16, and a car driver was also injured; an investigation has been started.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the facts of violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement reads.

According to the inquiry, the armed forces of the aggressor state launched a missile attack targeting Kyiv region. An 82-year-old woman was injured. A man driving along the highway at the time of the strike also sustained injuries.

Residential buildings and a shop were damaged in one of the districts.

As noted by the Prosecutor General’s Office, prosecutors, experts, police officers, and security service operatives, along with emergency response teams, are working on the scenes.

As reported earlier, no damage was reported in the city of Kyiv as a result of the latest missile attack.
