Ukrainian forces advance by one kilometer in Vuhledar area — Defense Forces

The Ukrainian defense forces of Tavria direction advanced by one kilometer in the area of Vuhledar.

Valeriy Shershen, spokesperson for the joint press center of the defense forces of Tavria direction, said this during the nationwide United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.

“As part of defensive operations in the area of Vuhledar city, tactical position measures are ongoing. Yes, our units and troops have advanced up to one kilometer toward the enemy," the spokesman informed.

At the same time, according to him, the enemy shelled Vuhledar, Vodiane, Kurakhove, Maksymivka, Yelizavetivka, Prychystivka, Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vilne Pole. In addition, the enemy launched an airstrike near Zolota Nyva. The enemy carried out the most assaults in the Marinka direction - 13, in the Avdiivka direction - 9, in the Vuhledar direction - 2.

In total, 25 combat engagements took place in Donetsk region the day before, as well as 7 at night. Missile troops and artillery units of the defense forces of Tavria direction completed 1,577 fire missions over the past day.

According to the spokesperson, as of this morning, the approximate losses of the enemy in the Tavria direction were: 34 killed, 85 wounded, and five captured. In addition, two ammunition depots and nine units of enemy military equipment were destroyed.

In total, 59 units of enemy military equipment were destroyed or damaged over the past day. In particular, a Ka-52 helicopter, 14 tanks, 10 IFVs, 6 armoured fighting vehicle, a tracked armored fighting vehicle, a 2S19 Msta-S howitzer, a 2A65Msta-B howitzer, a Kornet ATGM, a 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, an electronic warfare system, and three UAVs - Zala, Orlan-10, Orlan-30.

As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to June 15, 2023, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 217,910 Russian invaders, including 580 in the past day alone.
