In the Orikhiv sector, separate units of the National Guard of Ukraine have advanced by 650 to 1,500 meters in the direction of Novopokrovka.

Colonel Mykola Urshalovych, deputy director of the department of planning and use at the main directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine, said this during an online briefing, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"In the Orikhiv area, separate units of the National Guard are conducting offensive assault operations as part of the defense forces, despite the significant density of mine-explosive barriers and intense artillery fire, and they have partial gains - they have advanced to a depth of 650 to 1,500 meters in the direction of Novopokrovka," Urshalovych said.

According to him, in the Kupiansk, Lyman and Sivershchyna areas last week, the enemy used gun and rocket artillery, and carried out air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian National Guard units. But the Ukrainian guardsmen hold their positions.

"Despite the enemy's superiority in the air and intense fire - and this is eight air strikes and 550 instances of shelling from MLRS, artillery and mortars - not a single position has been lost," he said.
