The United States is sending an additional package of military assistance to Ukraine, which provides for the immediate delivery of air defense capabilities, missiles for HIMARS systems, artillery rounds, armored vehicles and other equipment.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this in a press statement on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.

"Pursuant to a delegation of authority from President Biden, I am authorizing our 40th drawdown for Ukraine, which will provide $325 million worth of U.S. arms and equipment," the statement said.

At the same time, Blinken said that this security assistance package includes "critical air defense capabilities, additional munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, artillery rounds, anti-tank weapons, armored vehicles, and other equipment essential to strengthening Ukraine's forces on the battlefield."

He noted that the United States continues to stand with the people of Ukraine, whose enduring courage and solidarity inspires the world.

"The United States is partnering with over 50 nations to lead efforts in support of Ukraine's self-defense against Russian aggression," Blinken said.

He also added Russia started this unprovoked war against Ukraine and Russia could end it at any time by withdrawing its forces from Ukraine and stopping its brutal attacks against Ukraine's cities and people.

"Until Russia does so, the United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine, for as long as it takes," Blinken said.

As reported by Ukrinform, last Friday the administration of the United States announced the allocation of defense support to Ukraine in the total amount of 2.1 billion dollars, which will be financed within the framework of the Ukraine Security Promotion Initiative (USAI).

Last Friday, the U.S. administration announced a $2.1 billion military aid package for Ukraine under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
