Kakhovka HPP explosion: 10 people killed, 42 missing

Forty-two people, including seven children, are reported missing as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP dam by Russian troops, and 10 people have been killed.

That's according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

As of 13:00, 46 settlements in the Kherson region remain flooded, including 32 (3801 houses) - on the government-controlled territory, and 14 - on the territory temporarily occupied by Russian invaders.

"2743 people have been evacuated, including 205 children and 76 people with limited mobility. Eight people were killed. 42 people are missing, including 7 children," the statement said.

In Mykolaiv region, 31 settlements were flooded. 982 people were evacuated, including 167 children. Two people were killed.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, almost 165 thousand subscribers in 32 settlements have no water supply. The company continues to deliver water and search for options for its stable supply.

"We are recording a steady decrease in the water level in the flooded settlements. We are stepping up security measures to prevent injuries and thefts," said Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

In addition, residents of Kherson region are reporting to the police about flooding of personal property. A total of 1927 reports have been recorded.

As Ukrinform reported, the Interior Ministry will initiate the extension of the curfew in Kherson to quickly eliminate the consequences of the Russian troops' blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam.
