Ukrainian army conducts assault operations, advances in Bakhmut direction - military spox

Ukrainian Armed Forces units are conducting assault operations in the Bakhmut direction, advancing, 120 occupiers were killed and 163 wounded over the day.

The spokesperson for the Eastern Grouping of Troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Serhii Cherevatyi said this on the air of the United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Taking advantage of the fact that the enemy is conducting rotational activities, and the new units that are entering do not fully know the area, we have conducted appropriate coordination, struck and have been conducting assault operations in the Bakhmut direction for several days. Over the previous day, our units advanced up to 1,200 meters in some areas," said Cherevatyi.

According to him, the main task of the Defense Forces is to inflict maximum damage on the enemy, to maximize its combat potential. "Before, we did it with the "Wagner" terrorist units, now we are doing it with the motorized rifle and airborne units of the Russian Federation," he noted.

Cherevatyi said that over the past day, the enemy fired 368 times at Ukrainian positions with cannon artillery, there were 15 firefights with the enemy and five air raids. The defense forces managed to destroy 120 Russian occupants, 163 were wounded and 11 were taken captive.

"Three cannons, a Nona artillery system and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, a Rapier anti-tank gun, a Grad multiple rocket launcher and three field ammunition depots were also destroyed," the spokesman informed.

As Ukrinform reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to June 9, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 213,770 Russian invaders, including 1,010 over the past day.
