The water level in the Kakhovka Reservoir is decreasing and has dropped by almost 1.5 meters.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administrative Serhii Lysak said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The water level in the reservoir is decreasing. It has dropped by almost 1.5 meters. We were preparing for an emergency. Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih regions are provided with specialized equipment for water supply and post-treatment systems. Kryvyi Rih has a water supply reserve due to the maximum filling of the Southern and Karachuniv reservoirs," he wrote.

Design and estimate documentation has also been developed to provide the cities of Kryvyi Rih, Marhanets, Pokrov and Nikopol with sustainable water supply.

"The Ministry of Infrastructure has all the calculations. The tasks are clear. Everyone is working," added Lysak.

These issues were discussed at a State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies meeting.

As Ukrinform reported, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam.
