War update: 23 combat engagements, 56 enemy strikes in past day

This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, June 4, published on Facebook.

"Over the past day, the enemy launched two missile strikes on Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, in particular, using Iskander missile system. One Iskander-K missile hit the suburbs of Dnipro city – a two-story residential building was damaged, more than 20 civilians, including children, were injured. In addition, the enemy launched 30 airstrikes and 56 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated settlements," reads the report.

The General Staff also noted that the aircraft of the defense forces launched 11 airstrikes on enemy personnel concentration areas, as well as six airstrikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems over the past 24 hours.

"Our defenders destroyed six enemy reconnaissance UAVs, as well as two Lancet combat UAVs. Over the past day, missile and artillery units hit an enemy command post, an anti-aircraft missile system, six artillery units on firing positions, and three ammunition depots," reads the report.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to completely occupy Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Over the past day, 23 combat engagements took place.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Hatyshche, Kharkiv region. The invaders fired mortars and artillery at Hremyach, Hay, Dmytrivka in Chernihiv region; Atynske, Bezsalivka, Oleksandrivka, Yunakivka, Mohrytsia, Stepok, Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy region; Ivashky, Udy, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Vysoka Yaruha, Pylna, Zelene, Vesele, Starytsia, Okhirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Bochkove, Budarky, Chuhunivka in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, over the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Novoselivske, Luhansk region. Airstrikes were launched near Serhiyivka in Donetsk region. Masiutivka, Lyman Pershyi, Kyslivka, Tabayivka, Berestove in Kharkiv region; Novoselivske in Luhansk region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, over the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirne, Donetsk region. Airstrikes were launched in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Siversk, Donetsk region. The areas of Makiyivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Verkhniokamyanske, Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy carried out offensive operations in the direction of Ivanivske and Bila Hora, had no success. Airstrikes were launched in the areas of Kurdiumivka and Bila Hora in Donetsk region. The areas of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Slovyansk, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, New York, and Shevchenko in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In Avdiyivka direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.

Airstrikes were launched near Avdiyivka. Avdiyivka, Pervomayske, Nevelske, Karlivka in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In Maryinka direction, the enemy carried out offensive operations in the area of Maryinka. The Ukrainian defenders repelled all 11 enemy attacks. The enemy suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment. At the same time, the enemy continues to destroy our cities and villages, launched an airstrike on Maryinka, fired artillery at Maksymilyanivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, Novomykhaylivka, Antonivka, Katerynivka, and Yantarne in Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarske direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Prechystivka in Donetsk region. The invaders shelled populated settlements along the contact line, in particular, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novoukrayinka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to hold the defense. Airstrikes were launched near Poltavka and Huliaypole in Zaporizhzhia region. Vremivka, Zelene Pole in Donetsk region; Burlatske, Malynivka, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriyivka, Kamyanske, Lukyanivske, Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region; Zolota Balka, Zmiyivka, Beryslav, Burhunka, Ivanivka, Dachi, Zymivnyk, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Kherson in Kherson region came under artillery fire.

On June 2, about 40 Russian servicemen voluntarily left their combat positions in Svatove, Luhansk region. To search for deserters, the occupiers involved two helicopters and a unit of the Russian Guard.
