Russia’s third attack on Kyiv in past day: Over 20 enemy drones downed, casualties reported

On the night of May 30, 2023, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine’s capital city, which is the fourth time in the past two days. The fragments of the downed enemy drones landed across different districts.

This is reported by Ukrinform, referring to Kyiv City State Administration and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Explosions were heard in the Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi and Pecherskyi districts. Around 05:00 a.m., a civilian was reported killed, as the fragments of the enemy drone hit an apartment block.

“In the Holosiivskyi district, where the fragments had landed and caused a fire in an apartment block, rescuers evacuated 20 people from the [residential] building. One person was killed. An elderly woman is being taken to hospital. Two victims received medical aid at the scene,” Klitschko wrote.

In general, four civilians were taken to hospital in the Holosiivskyi district. Three people received medical aid at the scene.

According to Kyiv City State Administration, a fire broke out on the upper two floors of the house. Slabs between floors were likely broken. Search and rescue works are underway, as people might have been trapped under the rubble.

In the Podilskyi district, a residential house caught fire. So far, no casualties have been reported.

Additionally, blasts rocked the Sviatoshynskyi district. The fragments landed within the area of an enterprise.

In the Darnytskyi district, civilian cars were damaged by the fragments of the enemy drone.

In the Dniprovskyi district, the burning debris landed within a green space.

In the Podilskyi district, the fragments hit a non-residential building.

According to Kyiv City Military Administration, over 20 enemy drones were destroyed by Ukraine’s air defense within Kyiv’s airspace.

Emergency services are working at the scene. Information about casualties and the damage caused is yet to be updated.
