Ukrainian forces repel numerous enemy attacks near Maryinka

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions - 26 combat clashes took place, with Bakhmut and Maryinka remaining at the epicenter of hostilities," the report says.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 41 airstrikes, as well as 53 MLRS attacks. Civilians were affected; private residential buildings and other civilian and administrative infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The threat of Russia’s further missile attacks and airstrikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy launched an airstrike on the area near Dovzhanka, carried out mortar and artillery attacks on the settlements of Khrinivka, Yeline, and Hremyach of Chernihiv region; Hudove, Vovkivka, Buniakyne, Stukalivka, Volfyne, Novomykolaivka, Riasne, and Velyka Pysarivka of Sumy region, as well as Stohnii, Udy, Strelecha, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Lyptsi, Neskuchne, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Vovchansk, Varvarivka, Nesterne, Budarky and Zemlianka of Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Masiutivka. Airstrikes near Kyslivka and Kotliarivka were recorded. Kamianka, Topoli, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Mala Shapkivka, Kindrashivka, Kupiansk, Tabaivka, and Berestove of Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka of Luhansk region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Bilohorivka area. An airstrike was recorded there. Nevske and Bilohorivka of Luhansk region and Torske and Spirne of Donetsk region were subjected to artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy attempted to conduct offensive operations in the Khromove area, but had no success. The Russians launched airstrikes on the districts of Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, Ozarianivka, and Toretsk. Kramatorsk, Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Kostiantynivka, Bila Hora, Toretsk, Pivdenne, Pivnichne and New York of Donetsk region came under enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Pervomaiske area. The Russian forces launched airstrikes on Novokalynove and Avdiivka districts. Keramik, Ocheretyne, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Severne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Netailove, Karlivka and Nevelske of Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In the Marinka direction, numerous enemy attacks were repelled in the area of Marinka. Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Kurakhove, and Pobieda of Donetsk region also came under enemy fire.

In the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy launched an airstrike on the area of Prechystivka, as well as shelled Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka.

In the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia direction, the occupiers are holding the defense. Enemy airstrikes on the settlements of Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka and Stepove of Zaporizhzhia region were recorded, as well as shelling of Vremivka, Burlatske, Novosilka, and Zelene Pole of Donetsk region. Olhivskyi, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky and Kamianske of Zaporizhzhia region were subjected to enemy shelling. Zolota Balka, Vesele, Kozatske, Lvove, Antonivka, Kizomys, Stanislav of Kherson region and the city of Kherson also came under enemy artillery fire.

The Air Force of Ukraine’s Defense Forces launched 15 strikes on the areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were located, including three strikes targeting anti-aircraft missile systems.

In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed an enemy attack and reconnaissance helicopter Ka-52, four Shahed-type attack UAVs and a Zala-type reconnaissance drone. Units of the Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit three enemy command posts, four weapons and military equipment clusters, an ammunition depot, two artillery units in firing positions and another three important targets.

As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to May 23, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 204,360 Russian invaders.
