Fighters from Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces employed an attack drone to destroy Russia’s Ironia optical-electronic complex designed for surveillance and gathering information about various objects on the battlefield.

That’s according to the SOF press service, Ukrinform reports.

The invaders had installed the complex in one of the operational areas. With its help, they had been gathering information about the actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and located their military hardware and personnel.

The thermal imager and range finder with which such complexes are equipped, as well as the video recording function, allowed the enemy to run round-the-clock surveillance missions and rapidly respond to the efforts undertaken by Ukrainian units.

"The SOF team, with the help of an attack drone, engaged the enemy complex and destroyed it, depriving the enemy of an important intelligence asset,” the press service noted, adding that “while on their mission, Ukraine’s specops unit was covered by other army units.”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in the course of the full-scale war the Kremlin is waging against Ukraine,  Russia’s death toll has risen to 203,880.
