Enemy continues focusing on four directions, 29 engagements recorded in past day

This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, May 19, posted on Facebook.

Today, the Russian Federation once again launched a massive air and missile attack on Ukraine. Detailed information will be released later.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 39 missile strikes, 39 airstrikes, and 50 MLRS attacks.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy fired mortars and artillery on the settlements of Leonivka in Chernihiv region; Studenok, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Pavlivka, Basivka, Myropillia, Mezenivka in Sumy region; Starytsia, Synelnykove, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Nesterne, Budarky in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, Kamyanka, Kolodiazne, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, Lyman Pershyi, Tabayivka, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations over the past day. Airstrikes were launched on the area of Bilohorivka. Makiyivka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Verkhniokamyanske and Spirne in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations. Heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. In addition, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Ivanivske. Airstrikes were launched on the areas of Bohdanivka, Bakhmut and Predtechyne settlements. Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora and Pivnichne in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Avdiyivka direction, the enemy went on the offensive towards Sieverne and Pervomaiske settlements but had no success. Over the past day, airstrikes were launched on the areas of Novokalynove and Avdiivka. Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pervomayske, Karlivka, Nevelske in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery fire.

In Marinka direction, the Ukrainian troops repelled numerous enemy attacks in the area of Marinka, as well as an attack in the direction of Novomykhailivka. At the same time, the enemy continues to destroy settlements along the contact line, firing artillery at Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Pobieda in Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarske direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations over the past day. Airstrikes were launched near the settlements of Zolota Nyva and Velyka Novosilka. The populated settlements, located near the contact line, in particular Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrainka, and Shakhtarske, came under enemy fire.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to hold the defense. The invaders launched an airstrike on Novopil, Donetsk region. The enemy also shelled populated settlements, including Burlatsk in Donetsk region; Olhivske, Charivne, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriyivka, Stepove, Kamyanske, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region; Kherson city.

Due to large sanitary losses, the Russian occupiers are increasingly using civilian healthcare facilities in the settlements for their own purposes. In particular, the invaders use a railway hospital in temporarily occupied Luhansk as a military hospital to treat wounded Russian servicemen and Wagner mercenaries.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck seven enemy personnel and military equipment clusters.

Over the past day, 21 enemy cruise missiles and eight UAVs of various types were destroyed.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery units struck an enemy weapons and military equipment cluster, an ammunition depot, three artillery units on firing positions, an anti-aircraft missile system, seven electronic warfare stations, and a radar station.
