Heavy fighting going on for Bakhmut – Ukraine's General Staff

The Russian army continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka areas, with 25 combat engagements recorded there today.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces said this in its evening report on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

Bakhmut and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities.

Throughout the day, the combat aircraft of Ukraine's defense forces carried out 14 strikes on areas where the enemy's personnel and military equipment were located, including five strikes on the occupiers' anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, Ukrainian defenders today destroyed two Olran-10 reconnaissance UAVs.

Ukraine's rocket and artillery units hit a command post, six troop concentration areas, two ammunition depots, two fuel depots, an artillery piece in a firing position, two air defense systems and two more important enemy targets.

During the day, the enemy launched five missile strikes on the cities of Bakhmut and Kherson using the S-300 air defense system. In addition, the enemy carried out 32 airstrikes and more than 40 attacks using multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, civilian casualties were recorded, private residential buildings and other civilian and administrative infrastructure were damaged.
