In Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian troops continue moving forward in the city suburbs.

"We continue moving forward in Bakhmut direction, in the city suburbs. Today, our units took up more than ten enemy positions in the north and south of the outskirts of Bakhmut and mopped up a large forest area near Ivanivske," Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar posted on Telegram.

Moreover, enemy soldiers from different units were captured.

"Against all odds. When the impossible is possible. Anyone who knows the real situation and is there now understands the severity of the situation. This is when 1 m is as difficult as 10 km. Our troops operate to the limit of superhuman capabilities. They act firmly, resolutely and professionally," Maliar added.

The deputy minister emphasized that the situation in Bakhmut is extremely tense. "The enemy has gathered all its forces there and tries to advance, destroying everything in its path, fierce battles continue," she noted.

Maliar emphasized that Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, keeps the situation under control, analyzes, plans, and makes decisions.

"As it should be, a real combat general stays with the army in the hottest moments. Next to him, Brigadier Generals Bohomolov and Hnatov skillfully manage subordinate troops. They implement the general purpose of the operation," Maliar wrote.

According to her, thanks to "thoughtful planning of the command and instant reaction to the enemy actions, resilience and courage of our soldiers, the enemy currently cannot surround the city and achieve a resounding victory in this direction."

As reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders carry out defensive and offensive operations in Bakhmut direction.
