Ukraine is focused on liberating its internationally recognized territory from invaders and is not interested in any attacks on Russian territory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Sunday, May 14, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"As for attacks on Russian territory, we are not attacking Russian territory. We are liberating our legitimate land. We are not interested in [attacks on Russian territory]. We have neither the time nor the strength to do so and we have no weapons to do so," he said.

He added that Ukraine is currently focused on preparing a counter-offensive to de-occupy its own territory in accordance with international law.

When asked about "possible penetration" into Russian territory, Zelensky said that if he wants to come somewhere, he does so officially.

"As president of Ukraine, when I want to come somewhere, I come officially and don't 'penetrate' anywhere," Zelensky said.

Earlier, The Washington Post published an article alleging that President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed occupying Russian villages to gain leverage over Moscow, bombing a pipeline that transfers Russian oil to Hungary, and privately pining for long-range missiles to hit targets inside Russia's borders.

Zelensky is visiting Germany on May 14. He visited Italy on May 13.
