Ukrainian Air Force launches 10 strikes on enemy positions – General Staff

The aircraft of Ukraine’s defense forces on May 13 launched ten strikes on the areas where Russian personnel and military equipment were located, as well as four strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

 “Over the past day, the Russian Federation launched another massive attack on the territory of Ukraine, using Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. According to updated information, 18 out of 23 [UAVs] were destroyed by our defenders. As a result of the strikes, about 50 multi-story buildings, private buildings, cultural buildings, and healthcare facilities were damaged by blast waves. There are more than 30 injured among civilians," the report says.

In total, over the past day, the Russian aggressors launched four missile strikes, in particular on the cities of Ternopil and Mykolaiv, injuring civilians and damaging a multi-story building and other civilian infrastructure. In addition, the enemy launched 79 airstrikes and 99 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. As a result of enemy shelling of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, there are dead and wounded civilians, including children. A private house was destroyed, four multi-story buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

The General Staff warns that the threat of further missile attacks and airstrikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high as the enemy continues to use terror tactics.

It is noted that the enemy continues to focus main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. Overall, over the past day, about 57 combat clashes were recorded in the specified sectors of the front, with Bakhmut and Maryinka remaining the epicenter of hostilities.

"The Air Force of the Defense Forces over the past day launched 10 strikes on the areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated and 4 strikes on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems.  Also, our defenders shot down 3 enemy reconnaissance UAVs of the Orlan-10 type, destroyed 2 reconnaissance drones of the Zala type, 4 Lancet barrage munitions and 5 more of an unknown type. Rocket troops and artillery units struck 4 manpower concentration areas, a multiple launch rocket system at a firing position, 2 air defense systems, 2 ammunition depots, as well as 2 e-warfare systems of the enemy," the General Staff said.

As reported, since February 24, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated about 198,260 Russian invaders.
