The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not rule out the possibility that Russia may carry out provocations against its own civilians during parades in cities on May 9.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted a statement on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Provocations and lies are the eternal weapons of tyrants and aggressors. The whole point of the war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine is that we are not them. We are fighting on the battlefield. They bomb maternity hospitals and train stations where civilians gather," the General Staff emphasized.

Russia's "victory lap" is constantly demanding new large-scale casualties and crimes to gain the support of its own population. We can see that many Russian cities are planning parades on May 9, including with the participation of children. It is possible that Russia is preparing provocations against its own people. They have repeatedly killed their own people for political purposes," the General Staff of the Armed Forces noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine warned that Russian special services may be preparing provocations for May 9 in Russia and Belarus.
