According to preliminary information, about 15 enemy air targets were detected and destroyed in the airspace around Kyiv at night.

"The fifth air attack on Kyiv since the beginning of May! With the utmost density and power of the attack precisely on May 9!" Serhiy Popko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, posted on Telegram.

He noted that the day of the end of World War II became a sacred date for the Russians so they try to kill as many civilians as possible on this day.

According to him, today's night attack was carried out by four Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the Caspian Sea area.

"Let me remind you that the day before, the Russians deliberately used a record number of Shahed drones to detect and exhaust Kyiv's air defense forces as much as possible. But the plans of the aggressor failed as they did at the front. The launched cruise missiles, most likely of Kh-101 (Kh-555) type, did not reach their targets. The air defense forces of the capital did a perfect job again!" Popko emphasized.

He noted that, according to preliminary information, about 15 enemy air targets were detected and destroyed in the airspace around Kyiv.

"There were no hits. No casualties or serious damage due to falling fragments have been reported. The information is being updated and clarified," the Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration concluded.
