Civilian casualties as Russian missile hits Balaklia, Kharkiv region

The enemy launched a missile attack on Balaklia in the Izium district of Kharkiv region, presumably using an S-300 system.

That’s according to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy launched a missile attack on the town of Balaklia, Izium district. According to tentative reports, a S-300 missile hit the territory of one of the car parks," Syniehubov said.

All emergency services are now on site, the report reads. Five civilians have been injured, according to the official.

Two 75-year-old women and a 50-year-old woman sustained explosive injuries. Two men, aged 20 and 85, have relatively minor injuries. Currently, medics are treating those affected.

Earlier it was reported that over the past day, the enemy shelled the front-line settlements of Kharkiv, Chuhuyiv, and Kupiansk districts.
