The United States will not stop supporting Ukraine after Russia launched 145 airstrikes on peaceful cities and civilian infrastructure across the country over the past few days.

Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson at the U.S. Department of State, said this at a press briefing in Washington on Thursday, May 4, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Since May 1, Russia has launched more than 145 airstrikes across Ukraine. That means Russia has launched more than one missile, one drone, or bomb every hour, 24 hours a day for four straight days," he said.

According to him, while Ukraine puts its air defenses to good use, Russia's cowardly attacks have still injured and killed more than a hundred innocent civilians across the country in the last three days alone, including at least five children.

"The United States will never look away from what is happening in Ukraine and Russia's brutal attacks on civilian infrastructure," Patel said.

He recalled that on May 3, Washington announced another $300 million in security assistance for Ukraine – marking $35.8 billion to Ukraine since February 24, 2022.

"We will continue to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression, and we recognize Ukraine's incredibly courageous military forces and its citizens for their bravery and resilience," Patel said.
