Innovations are becoming a real path to victory, and a whole structure of innovation entities has been launched in Ukraine to speed up the procedure for the introduction of the most effective weapons.

Colonel Volodymyr Kotsiuruba, a representative of the Central Military Scientific Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this, Ukrinform reports citing ArmyInform.

Kotsiuruba presented a mechanism for evaluating and implementing inventions and innovations used in the security and defense sector, in particular, the Brave 1 Innovation Development Fund, created by various ministries and organizations.

"The Foundation makes decisions through the work of its supervisory board to allocate a grant to support an innovative project and to promote and support it. Grant assistance is offered by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Economy," he said.

According to him, if a project receives a high level of evaluation, it is sent to the Ministry of Defense's accelerator platform and its technical characteristics are checked with the participation of Ukroboronprom, after which a decision is made to supply the weapon sample.

The procedure for the evaluation and support is determined by a joint decision of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, which will be signed in the near future, Kotsiuruba said.

"This act will be the result of the evaluation itself, and the final and main result will be the satisfaction of the needs for advanced weapons and military equipment," he said.

The representative of the General Staff also noted that the involvement of thousands of innovative projects, along with the support of large government orders, will provide the Armed Forces with a variety of weapons and military equipment "here and now," and will become a long-term investment in a national developer and manufacturer.
