Russian sources complain of drone attacks on military airfield in Bryansk region

On the night of May 3, 2023, a military airfield in Russia’s Bryansk region was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The An-124 heavy transport aircraft was reported damaged.

The relevant statement was made by Baza Telegram channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, five drones, allegedly those of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were involved in the attack. Two of them exploded within the area of the airfield, and two were reportedly shot down with small arms. The fifth drone is yet to be found.

According to Russian sources, the attack caused minor damage to the An-124 heavy transport aircraft, which had been out of service. No casualties were reported.

A reminder that, on May 1, 2023 and May 2, 2023, railroad tracks were blown up in Russia’s Bryansk region. The incidents took place near such stations as Unecha and Snezhetskaya. As a result, freight trains derailed in both cases.
