In Uman, 127 victims of rocket attack seek help

The Uman City Council received 127 applications for financial assistance after Russia's missile attack on a high-rise building on April 28.

The Uman City Council reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"A meeting has just been held under the chairmanship of Mayor Irina Pletneva on the allocation of material assistance to the victims. 127 applications for financial assistance and reimbursement were considered," the statement reads.

Svitlana Voloshenyuk, deputy mayor of Uman, told Ukrinform that the region announced the allocation of 100,000 UAH to the victims, but the decision must be approved by the Cherkasy Regional Council, and the city council allocated 13,000 UAH for the first expenses. "Those who need treatment will receive it at the expense of the city budget," she said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the day before, the youngest victim of the tragedy, a boy born in 2021, was buried in Uman.

In total, 23 people were killed in the Russian missile attack on Uman, including six children.
