Russian army shells Nikopol with heavy artillery

Russian troops shelled Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, on the night of May 2.

Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

 "At night, the aggressor shelled Nikopol with heavy artillery. There were no killed or injured," he said.

According to Lysak, rescuers are working in the city. They are surveying the territory and examining the aftermath of the attack.

He also answered "the most common question following the visit of the President of the Czech Republic to Dnipropetrovsk region last weekend."

"What did Petr Pavel write on military equipment of our guys? "... Russians, go home before it's too late! The retired general and former head of the NATO Military Committee knows what he is talking about," Lysak said.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to data provided by the regional military administrations, Russian troops shelled Nikopol with heavy artillery twice on April 30. A 48-year-old man was killed. A 46-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man were injured. In the city, six multi-story buildings and the same number of private houses, farm buildings, two gas pipelines, and a power line were damaged.
