Ukraine's top general meets with commander of U.S. forces in Europe

General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces, has held an expanded meeting with General Christopher Cavoli, the top commander of U.S. forces in Europe, during which a wide range of issues important to the Ukrainian Armed Forces were discussed.

According to Ukrinform, Zaluzhnyi said this on Facebook.

According to Zaluzhnyi, both parties considered in greater depth the operational situation along the entire front line.

"I described likely scenarios, threats and prerequisites for our future actions. We set ourselves the following goal - to train and prepare in such a way as to perform the specified tasks to the highest possible extent," Zaluzhnyi said.

The top commanders also focused on the importance of timely supply of a sufficient amount of ammunition and materiel.

"I emphasized the need to provide Ukraine with a wide range of armament and air defense systems, which will significantly facilitate us to solve the problematic issues in our resistance to Russian aggression," Zaluzhnyi wrote.

The meeting participants also discussed the issue of training Ukrainian defenders. They agreed to continue to maintain dialogue and work to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
