Germany confirms transfer of second Iris-T air defense system to Ukraine

Germany has confirmed the delivery of the second Iris-T SLM air defense system to Ukraine.

This follows from an updated list on the website of the Federal Government of Germany, Ukrinform reports.

Among the new deliveries are Iris-T SLM air defense system, eight more Zetros trucks (a total of 84 have already been delivered) and two trucks 8x6 with eight roll-off containers.

All equipment is transferred directly from the manufacturers.

The Iris-T SLM is the newest system, which is not currently even in service with the Bundeswehr. The first one was handed over last autumn: two more are expected to be handed over as soon as they are produced.
