Ukraine’s Interior Ministry launches website about Russian army losses

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has launched the web resource "Losses.NET" that will provide information about the enemy's losses.

That’s according to the ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

"From now on, information on the objective picture of losses of the Russian army, illegal armed groups of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR", and private military companies that participated in the armed aggression against Ukraine is available on the web resource "Losses.NET"," the statement reads.

As noted, the idea for the project arose after the Russian defense minister announced Russia's losses of 5,937 people in September last year, but according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers' losses at that time were already more than 50,000 people.

"We started collecting data from open sources. Volunteer organizations, telegram channels are also actively engaged in this activity, and an objective picture of losses is covered in the media and social networks. Therefore, it was decided to collect this information in one place so that we could verify the real losses of the enemy that exist today," the press service quoted Deputy Interior Minister Leonid Tymchenko as saying.

As of now, the web resourcecontains information about 56,827 Russian representatives who died in Ukraine. The website contains the following information about the deceased: surname, name, patronymic, place and date of death, as well as a photo (if available).

As reported earlier, according to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 183,130 Russian invaders during the full-scale war.

While citing and using any materials on the Internet, links to the website ukrinform.net not lower than the first paragraph are mandatory. In addition, citing the translated materials of foreign media outlets is possible only if there is a link to the website ukrinform.net and the website of a foreign media outlet. Materials marked as "Advertisement" or with a disclaimer reading "The material has been posted in accordance with Part 3 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" No. 270/96-VR of July 3, 1996 and the Law of Ukraine "On the Media" No. 2849-Х of March 31, 2023 and on the basis of an agreement/invoice.
