Ukrainian forces repel over 60 Russian attacks in four sectors

The enemy is conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka sectors, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has said in a morning update.

"Over the past 24 hours, units of Ukraine's defense forces repelled more than 60 enemy attacks in these areas of the front. The fiercest fighting is ongoing in Bakhmut and Marinka. [...] The enemy launched 4 missile strikes and 60 air strikes and carried out 58 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems. Civilians were also affected," the General Staff said on Facebook.

The probability of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

On  April 18, Ukrainian combat aircraft launched 11 strikes on Russian personnel concentration areas and two strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems. Moreover, two enemy reconnaissance UAVs (an Orlan-10 and a Supercam) and eight strike UAVs (seven Shahed-136s and a Lancet) were shot down.

Units of the Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery struck three Russian military personnel concentration areas, an electronic warfare station and an important military object of the enemy.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna sectors, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In the past day, the enemy shelled the settlements of Hremiach in the Chernihiv region, Velyka Berizka, Koreniok, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfyne, and Richky in the Sumy region, as well as Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Okhrimivka and Nesterne in the Kharkiv region.

The settlements of Kamianka, Ridkodub, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna and Zapadne in the Kharkiv region came under enemy shelling in the Kupiansk sector.

On the Lyman axis, the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position and conducted unsuccessful offensive action outside Dibrova. The settlements of Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Hryhorivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Ivanivka, Torske and Spirne in the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut area, the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations.

Heavy fighting is ongoing for the city of Bakhmut. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy offensive on Stupochky. The settlements of Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Toretsk and New York in the Donetsk region came under enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive action outside Stepove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske. Russian forces also shelled the settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Netailove and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the vicinity of Marinka. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka came under enemy fire.

On the Shakhtarsk axis, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations outside Prechystivka. The enemy shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrainka and Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson sectors. At the same time, in the past 24 hours, the enemy shelled the settlements near the contact line, including Novopil in the Donetsk region, Olhivske, Malynivka, Chervone, Huliaipole, Charivne, Orikhiv, Stepove and Plavni in the Zaporizhzhia region, Antonivka in the Kherson region and Kherson city. Civilian casualties were recorded.

In the temporarily captured territory of the Kherson region, the Russian invaders continue to mine the area, building up defense capabilities. The water areas of the Konka and Dnipro rivers are also affected. There are cases of local residents hitting enemy mines when trying to get out into the water.
