Russia fires 850 cruise missiles at Ukraine since autumn - Air Force

The spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said this on the air of the telethon "United News", Ukrinform reports.

"Yes, the enemy used a strategic missile stockpile against our critical infrastructure. Since September 11, when the attacks on our critical infrastructure began, the enemy has already used more than 850 cruise missiles of various types," Ignat said.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia plans to start mass production of strategic air-launched cruise missiles of the X-50 type to intensify attacks on Ukraine again in autumn.

"For some reason, the enemy decided to restore (their production - ed.). What is the reason for this? There may be more resources to produce this type of munition. This process may be cheaper. This missile is of the same type, with the same tactical and technical characteristics as those used by Russia to attack our critical infrastructure and other targets. What they announced that they are trying to build is just that, an announcement. Let's hope that because of the sanctions, it won't be so easy for them, and it won't be so easy to produce a cruise missile," Ignat added.

The Air Force spokesman noted that Russians still have a small stockpile of such missiles and will try to accumulate them.

As reported, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Hromov, said that in June this year, Russia plans to start mass production of strategic air-launched cruise missiles of the X-50 type. This let Kremlin intensify missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine in the autumn. Since February 2022, Russia has spent at least 50% of its stockpile of long-range anti-aircraft missiles.
