Ukraine’s Armed Forces repel 20 enemy attacks – General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 18:00 on April 13, published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.  

Throughout the day, the enemy launched 11 airstrikes and conducted nearly 20 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems. Civilian casualties were recorded. The probability of missile attacks and airstrikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

"Despite significant losses, the enemy has not given up its plans to occupy our territory. They continue to focus main efforts on conducting offensive operation in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka areas. Fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Marinka. Throughout the day, due to the coordinated actions of the Defense Forces’ units and the resilience of our soldiers, about 20 enemy attacks were repelled," the General Staff said.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna areas, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of enemy offensive groups’ formation have been detected. Some units of Russian territorial troops are remaining on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Comprehensive checks of the combat readiness of the armed forces of Belarus are underway.

In addition, the enemy continues to maintain its military presence in Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, the invaders shelled the settlements of Studenok, Iskryskivshchyna, and Volfyne in Sumy region, as well as Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Ternova, Starytsia, Hatyshche, and Budarky in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces shelled Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka and Tabaivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bilohorivka. Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Spirne in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to conduct offensive actions. Heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. The enemy attempted an attack on the settlement of Predtechyne, but had no success. Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, Novodmytrivka, Kurdiumivka, Severne and Zalizne in Donetsk region came under enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops used artillery to shell Stepove, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske and Karlivka in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the area of Marinka in Donetsk region. At the same time, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka came under enemy fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. Russian troops shelled the settlements of Shakhtarske, Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk region.

In the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions, the invaders continue to conduct defensive operations. Throughout the day, they attacked the settlements located near the contact line, including Olhivske, Chervone, Huliaipole, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhia region; Stepanivka and Antonivka in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson.

 “The Air Force struck three clusters of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers, while missile and artillery units hit two command posts, two areas of concentration of manpower, arms and military equipment of the enemy, as well as a radar station and a radio e-warfare station,” the General Staff said.

As reported by Ukrinform, from February 24, 2022 to April 13, 2023, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 180, 590 Russian soldiers, including 540 invaders in the past day alone.
