Armed Forces of Ukraine destroy Su-25 enemy attack aircraft, seven drones

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, April 8.

"Over the past day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched nine strikes on the enemy personnel and military equipment clusters. In addition, our defenders destroyed a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft near Marinka. The enemy also lost seven unmanned aerial vehicles: three Orlan UAVs, three Lancet UAVs, and one Merlin UAV," the report reads.

Missile and artillery units hit an enemy command post, two manpower clusters and destroyed an ammunition depot.

The enemy launched two missile strikes, 35 airstrikes, and more than 40 MLRS attacks over the past day.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on offensive operations in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions. Over the past day, more than 60 enemy attacks were repelled in the indicated directions due to the courage of Ukrainian soldiers.

In Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of formations of enemy offensive groups have been detected. The enemy continues to maintain its military presence in Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine. In the border areas of Kursk region, the enemy continues to build fortifications.

Over the past day, the enemy shelled the settlements of Leonivka, Hremyach in Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka, Seredyna-Buda, Zarutske in Sumy region; Huryiv Kozachok, Lukyantsi, Verkhnia Pysarivka, Grafske, Zybyne, Karayichne, Potykhonove, Ambarne, Bolohivka, Krasne Pershe, and Novomlynsk in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, the settlements of Topoli, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Krokhmalne, Husynka, Kindrashivka in Kharkiv region; Novoselivske in Luhansk region came under enemy fire.

In Lyman direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations south of Kreminna, as well as near Serebrianskye forestry and Verkhniokamyanske. Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Kuzmyne, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Torske, Zarichne, Spirne, Berestove in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery fire.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to go on the offensive, tries to take full control of the city of Bakhmut, fierce battles continue. Over the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations east of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske. The Ukrainian troops repelled about 20 enemy attacks on the indicated section of the front. More than 25 settlements in the combat zone came under enemy fire, including Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Novomarkove, Stupochky, Shumy, Toretsk, New York in Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the enemy went on the offensive near Novokalynove, Sieverne, Pervomayske, Marinka, and Pobieda in Donetsk region, had no success. The fiercest battles on the indicated section of the front continue for Marinka, where more than 15 enemy attacks were repelled. At the same time, the enemy struck Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, and Paraskoviivka in Donetsk region.

Over the past day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations in Shakhtarsk direction. Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Kermenchyk, Novomayorske, Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to build up fortifications on defensive lines and positions. The invaders struck more than 40 settlements, including Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka in Zaporizhzhia region; Kachkarivka, Zmiivka, Inzhenerne, Zelenivka, Kherson in Kherson region.

In the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, the Russian occupiers intensified preparations for the evacuation of the local population to the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In particular, in Melitopol and Skadovsk, the enemy organized a local opinion poll regarding possible evacuation. During the poll, the presence of a Russian passport, registered place residence, and level of education are checked. Buses with those willing to evacuate leave from time to time. The occupiers spread the information that the forced evacuation of the civilian population will begin at the end of April.
