Kyiv Opera conductor dies defending Donetsk region

Kostiantyn Starovytskyi, conductor and producer of the Kyiv Opera, who had joined the Ukrainian Army after Russia’s full-scale invasion, was killed in action in the country’s Donetsk region.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
"Kostyantyn was an artist at the theater’s orchestra before becoming a conductor and producer of G. Donizetti's Rita opera, as well as co-director and co-author of the Ukrainian rendition of G. Rossini's The Bill of Marriage opera,” the statement reads.
Kostyantyn Starovytskyi was born in Brovary, Kyiv region, in 1982. He graduated from the National Music Academy’s Orchestra Faculty.
He is survived by his daughter, wife, and mother.
