The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War does not have official information on the places where Russia holds Ukrainian defenders.

The relevant statement was made on Telegram by Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Ukrinform reports.

The Coordination Headquarters held a meeting with families and friends of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 2276 and military unit 3017).

Representatives of the Coordination Headquarters and the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine spoke with the families of the captured National Guard members.

According to a representative of the headquarters, if a person is mentioned in the register of the National Information Bureau, he or she is involved in the exchange process. Missing soldiers, as well as those confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense through the International Committee of the Red Cross, are also being returned from captivity.

As for the places where the captured defenders are being held, the representative noted that they don’t have official information on this.

"But we make efforts to gain back soldiers from all places of detention where they are held captive," a representative said, adding that "there are no illusions about the conditions of their detention, and the ICRC does not have access to all camps and colonies."

The representative of the National Guard said that, if new materials appear that may indicate that a person is in captivity, the military unit may change their type of registration.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the issues of financial support and one-time financial assistance to the families of prisoners of war, as well as the service of a soldier after his return from captivity, treatment and rehabilitation.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, according to the spokesman for the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukraine has returned 2005 people from Russian captivity.
