Over the past day, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have repelled 57 Russian attacks on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka axes.

That’s according to a morning update on battlefield developments, delivered by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

"Over the past day, the enemy launched 18 air strikes and three missile strikes, and carried out 50 attacks involving MLR systems on the positions of our troops and the civilian infrastructure of populated areas," the statement reads.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high as the enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, continuing to employ terror tactics against the civilian population, warns the General Staff.

The enemy is focusing its main efforts on the offensive in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka directions. Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka, and the areas around these settlements remain at the epicenter of hostilities. Thanks to professional and coordinated action of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, 57 Russian attacks were repelled in the specified areas over the past 24 hours.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has undergone no significant changes as no signs of offensive groupings being formed were observed. On the territory of Belarus, Russian troops continue their combat training. The enemy maintains presence in the border areas of the Kursk and Belgorod regions of Russia. During the past day, the enemy shelled the areas of Kucherivka, Bilopylla, and Volfyne of Sumy region, as well as the areas of the settlements of Timofiivka, Chervona Zoria, Veterynarne, Strelecha, Hlyboke, Krasne, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Komisarove, Ustynivka, Vilkhuvatka, and Stroivka in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupiansk and Lyman axes, during the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Krokhmalne, Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, and Berestovka settlements. Russian artillery shelled Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Figolivka, Novomlynsk, Kutkivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Vilshana, Kislivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region; Novoselivske, Nevske, Kuzmyne, Dibrova and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, as well as Spirne in Donetsk region.

The enemy continues its assault effort on the city of Bakhmut. However, Ukraine’s defenders courageously hold their ground, repelling numerous enemy attacks. During the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive attempts in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Predtechine and Ozaryanivka settlements of Donetsk region, also shelling Vasyukivka, Minkivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Khromove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kurdyumivka, Ozaryanivka, Druzhba, Shumy, and Maiorsk.

On the Avdiyivka and Marinka axes, the enemy carried out offensive operations in the direction of Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Pervomaiske, and Marinka, without no success. The settlements of Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorgiivka, Stepove, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Tonenka, Pervomaiske, Maryinka, Pobieda, Paraskoviivka, and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In the Shakhtarske direction, over the past day, the enemy opened fire at the areas of Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka settlements in Donetsk region.

The enemy is on the defensive in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. The settlements of Novosilka and Novopil of Donetsk region; Hulyaipole, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, and Novoandriivka of Zaporizhzhia region; Antonivka and Kherson all came under enemy fire.

As noted by the General Staff, the Russians continue to cynically use healthcare facilities in the temporarily occupied territories for their own purposes. Thus, the clinic in Bilovodsk, Luhansk region, has been converted into a military hospital with a 200-bed capacity. Invaders with minor injuries are currently being treated at the said facility, while civilian patients are being discharged.

Recently, there has been a tendency for the Russian invaders to snub their commanders’ orders. For example, on March 23, for refusing to perform a combat mission, about 70 soldiers from the Nevsky and Veterany volunteer formations were disarmed and brought to Makiyivka, Donetsk region. A similar incident occurred on March 25, when an enemy reconnaissance company operating in the Avdiivka direction refused to carry out the order.

As reported, since February 24, 2022, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have eliminated nearly 171,730 Russian invaders.
