In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops continue attempts to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, referring to Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The situation in the Bakhmut direction is remaining tense but controlled. The enemy continues attempts to break through our defenses around the city and sending their best units there,” the report states.

Ukrainian defenders are heroically holding the city and inflicting significant losses on Russian invaders. The brave infantry soldiers from the 28th, 54th, 56th and 57th brigades, together with their comrades from the 93rd and 4th operational brigades, as well as other defense forces, are holding the front side by side, leaving no chance to the enemy for success.

According to the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Syrskyi is constantly staying within the front line together with subordinate units. Together with commanders, they coordinate actions that will disrupt the enemy’s plans.

Syrskyi presented awards to the best Ukrainian defenders for the successful completion of combat missions.

A reminder that fourteen military clashes have occurred near the Donetsk region’s Bakhmut over the past day. A total of 86 Russian occupiers were eliminated and 117 injured.
