On March 24, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile strike on Russia’s base in the sea port of temporarily occupied Berdiansk and dispelled the myth about the invulnerability of the Russian naval fleet.

The relevant statement was made by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The large landing ship, Orsk, Caesar Kunikov, Novocherkassk were damaged, and Saratov was destroyed,” Zaluznhyi noted.

Zaluzhnyi emphasized that “the myth about the invulnerability of the Russian naval fleet was dispelled by the accurate strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

“This once again proved an irrefutable fact: the enemy will not rest on Ukrainian land, either on land or in water,” Zaluzhnyi stressed.

A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and March 24, 2023, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 169,170 troops.
