British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons, Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Larisa Galadza-Cronin and Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine Maria Lindgren Saltanova visited Kharkiv on Tuesday.

That's according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Together with Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov, and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the diplomats visited the city center, where the iconic buildings of the regional state administration and the Karazin University were damaged by Russian shelling. In total, the invaders launched 13 missile strikes in this area.

"We are glad to be in Kharkiv. We see that Kharkiv stands, Kharkiv lives. We are visiting Kharkiv for the first time since the full-scale invasion began, but Canada has stood with you since day one," Galadza-Cronin said.

Terekhov noted that the visit is symbolic for the city residents and expressed hope that the governments of the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden and other countries will join the post-war reconstruction of Kharkiv.

With the participation of ambassadors and Ukrainian officials, meetings were held behind closed doors to discuss the humanitarian situation in the Kharkiv region, demining of territories, the provision of psychological assistance to victims of Russian aggression, and the restoration of basic services in the liberated territories.
