In the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, Russian invaders are now using new markings on their military equipment – a triangle on top of an infamous “Z”.

That’s according to Petro Andriushchenko, an adviser to the Mariupol mayor in exile, Ukrinform reports, referring to the official’s posting on Telegram containing the relevant photos.

"We’re spotting the use of new markings in the latest enemy convoys. A triangle on top of a ‘Z’. Prior to that, most convoys had a ‘V’ marking or no markings at all. The circle in the triangle has not been observed since early winter," Andriushchenko wrote.

As reported earlier, the invaders are turning Mariupol and the surrounding villages into a military-logistics hub for the Russian army.

Since February 20, there have been frequent explosions in the city. According to eyewitness reports, enemy ammunition depots and military hardware were hit in a series of strikes. These explosions prove that enemy targets in the area are no longer beyond the reach of Ukraine’s Defense Forces despite a significant range to the front line.

In Mariupol and outside the city, the invaders have established checkpoints on all bridges, entrenching and planting mines across the area.
