Enemy continues attacks on Bakhmut – Ukraine's General Staff

According to Ukrinform, the press service of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in its evening war update published on Facebook.

"The enemy continues focusing his main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk areas. The enemy continues unsuccessful offensive operations outside Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Kamianka, Avdiivka and Marinka of the Donetsk region. Throughout the day, the enemy launched 19 air strikes and one missile strike, as well as five attacks sing multiple launch rocket systems. The threat of Russian missile strikes remains significant throughout Ukraine," the report reads.

The operational situation in the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna areas has not changed significantly. Throughout the day, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the areas of Senkivka and Karpovychi of the Chernihiv region, Starikove, Holyshivske, Pavlivka, Volfyne, Hrabovske of the Sumy region and Huriv Kozachok, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Krasne, Zelene, Anyskyne, Dvorichna and Zapadne of the Kharkiv region.

The enemy is trying to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops on the Kupiansk and Lyman axis. Russian forces are conducting unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of Hrianykivka, Nevske and Spirne. The enemy fired artillery outside the settlements of Tabaivka and Krokhmalne in the Kharkiv region, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Chervonopivka and Dibrova in the Luhansk region, as well as Serebrianka, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Fedorivka and Yahidne in the Donetsk region.

The press service noted that the enemy continues to advance in the Bakhmut sector. The enemy continues assaulting the city of Bakhmut. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks near Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Bakhmut. The enemy shelled Zaliznianske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Dyliivka, Toretsk, Zalizne and New York of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk sectors, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Novokalynove, Kamianka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Marinka. Areas of more than 15 settlements came under enemy shelling. Among them are Berdychi, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka and Neskuchne of the Donetsk region.

The enemy is defending in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. The settlements of Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Tavriiske, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Stepove and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, Nikopol of the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Shliakhove, Beryslav, Shylova Balka, Tiahynka, Antonivka, Dniprovske, Bilozerka and Stanislav of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson all came under fire.

Ukraine's defense forces launched six strikes on Russian military personnel and equipment concentration areas, whereas units of Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit Russia's Buk-M1-2 anti-aircraft missile system and three enemy concentration areas.
