Ukraine’s Air Force launches 15 strikes on enemy positions, hitting anti-aircraft missile system

Over the past day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces of Ukraine launched 15 strikes on enemy positions, as well as one on an anti-aircraft missile system at its firing position.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update published on Facebook on March 7, Ukrinform reports.

The occupiers are focusing their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions. Over the past day, Ukrainian soldiers repelled more than 140 enemy attacks.

Units of the rocket forces and artillery hit an enemy command post, eight areas of enemy clusters, two air defense systems, an anti-aircraft missile system at its firing position, an ammunition depot and a radar station.

In total, the enemy launched 50 air strikes and 5 missile attacks. In particular, the enemy used 11 Shahed-136 UAVs, nine of which were shot down. Ukrainian defenders also downed an enemy Su-25 aircraft and eight other drones of various types in the past day.

In addition, the occupiers fired 59 multiple launch rocket systems, in particular at populated areas.

It is noted that the threat of further missile strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the formation of invaders’ offensive groups was not recorded. During the past day, the enemy shelled the areas of Senkivka and Karpovychi settlements in Chernihiv region; Starykove, Holyshivske, Pavlivka, Volfyne and Hrabovske in Sumy region; Veterynarne, Strelecha, Krasne, Ternova, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk and Budarky in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman direction, the enemy is trying to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops. Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of Hrianykivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka and Fedorivka settlements. Putnykove, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Krokhmalne in Kharkiv region; Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Chervonopivka, Dibrova in Luhansk region; Terny, Yampil, Rozdolivka, Fedorivka in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery shelling.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy, despite significant losses, continues to storm the city of Bakhmut and its surroundings. Over the past day, the enemy launched 37 attacks near the village of Dubovo-Vasylivka alone. Russian forces also conducted offensive operations in the areas of Bilohorivka, Fedorivka, Zaliznianske, Yahidne and Ivanivske but had no success. Artillery and mortar attacks were recorded in the areas of Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Druzhba, Toretsk, Mayorsk and New York settlements.

In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the occupiers carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Maryinka in Donetsk region. In particular, Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Sieverne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Maryinka, Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka came under enemy fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is holding the defense. Russian forces shelled Vremivka in Donetsk region; Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Kamianske, Tavriyske in Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region; Zmiivka, Shliakhove, Kherson, Kozatske, Olhivka, Tiahynka, Antonivka and Bilozerka in Kherson region.
