Russian accomplice Yevgeny Balytsky issued an "order" to designate Melitopol as the administrative center of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region.

This is the beginning of russia’s surrender in the area, believes the Melitopol Mayor in exile, Ivan Fedorov, Ukrinform reports.

"Unfortunately, the enemy chose our city as both an administrative and logistical center, and the people who remained there are suffering the most. Balytskyi's ‘order’ to recognize Melitopol as ‘capital’ of Zaporizhzhia region is the beginning of the enemy's surrender precisely on the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region. Why is so? Because the enemy used to say they would capture the region in two to three days, that he had advanced on the Zaporizhzhia front line, that they had allegedly entered Kamianske and Mala Tokmachka. Today, the fact that they recognized Melitopol as the administrative center of the captured Zaporizhzhia region, shows that they are not going to advance and are now trying to hold what they have captured. So today is the beginning of the enemy's capitulation," Fedorov said at the national telethon.

Currently, it is impossible for local residents to leave the city without obtaining a special "pass" at the occupation commandant's office.
