Defense forces shot down Russian helicopter, attack aircraft, seven drones in past day

Over the past day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 13 strikes on Russian troops' buildup areas. Our defenders also shot down an enemy Su-25 attack aircraft, a Mi-24 helicopter, and seven drones.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, March 3, published on Facebook.

"In Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk directions, our soldiers repelled more than 85 enemy attacks over the past day. The enemy continues to violate the norms of international humanitarian law," the report says.

The aggressor launched 31 airstrikes and three missile strikes, in particular, on civilian infrastructure in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. Civilians were wounded, apartment blocks and private houses were damaged. In addition, 88 MLRS attacks were recorded.

In Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. Over the past day, the enemy launched mortar and artillery attacks on Tymonovychi, Zarichchia, Hremyach, Khrinivka in Chernihiv region; Boyaro-Lezhachi, Atynske, Iskryskivshchyna, Kindrativka, Myropilske, Popivka in Sumy region; Krasne, Hlyboke, Vesele, Vovchansk, Ohirtseve, Strilecha and other settlements in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy went on the offensive in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirne, Donetsk region, had no success. The areas of 20 settlements came under artillery fire, in particular, Dvorichna, Lyman Pershyi, Petropavlivka, Kupyansk in Kharkiv region; Makiivka and Kreminna in Luhansk region; Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy keeps assaulting the town of Bakhmut. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, and Bakhmut in Donetsk region. Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Dyliivka, Mayorsk, and New York came under enemy fire.

The Russians continue to unsuccessfully attack the positions of Ukrainian troops in Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions. Artillery and mortar attacks were launched in the areas of 18 settlements, including Berdychi, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Vesele, Bohoyavlenka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vuhledar in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, more than 45 settlements came under enemy fire, in particular, Novosilka and Vremivka in Donetsk region; Zaliznychne, Huliaypole, Kamyanske in Zaporizhzhia region; Vesele, Beryslav, Chornobayivka, Antonivka, and Kherson in Kherson region.

The invaders continue to ransack the population in the temporarily captured territory of Zaporizhzhia region. In particular, since the beginning of February, Russian mercenaries began actively taking cars from residents who did not receive Russian passports.

Representatives of the so-called occupation authorities exert pressure on the local population to appropriate land plots. The majority of residents of Boyove settlement in Kherson region refused to hand over their private plots to the local occupation administration. As of March 1, about 200 residents of this village were taken to an unknown destination for so-called filtration measures, and Russian mercenaries are accommodated in their houses.

In addition, Ukrainian defenders shot down an enemy Su-25 attack aircraft, a Mi-24 helicopter, and seven drones (one Supercam UAV, two Orlan UAVs, and four Lancet UAVs). Missile and artillery units hit six enemy buildup areas and their ammunition depots.
