Russia’s navy has doubled the number of vessels deployed in the Black Sea, including two submarine missile carriers with eight Kalibr cruise missiles on board.

That’s according to Operational Command South, Ukrinform reports.

"The number of enemy vessels in the Black Sea has doubled. Currently, 12 ships remain at a safe distance from the Ukraine-controlled coast. Among them are two submarine missile carriers with eight Kalibrs on board and three large landing ships," the report reads.

OC South emphasized that the threat of missile attacks remains relevant as the enemy continues reconnaissance operations in search of new missile strike tactics.

Also, throughout the day, the invasion forces have been shelling peaceful settlements on the right bank of Dnipro in Kherson and a number of communities in Mykolaiv region opposite the Kinburn Spit.

Kherson and Antonivka were hit nearly 15 times, while shelling also reached Chornobayivka, the water area of the Dnipro-Buh Estuary, and the Ochakiv community littoral. No casualties were reported.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units led a counter-battery operation, having eliminated 10 invaders and destroyed a mortar, two Grad MLR systems, and three artillery guns that had been firing at the region. Three enemy observation points on the left bank of the Dnipro were effectively engaged.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russia kept a single missile carrier on combat duty in the Black Sea as of 7:30 Monday.
