Russians not evacuating their wounded from Vuhledar, Bakhmut
This was reported by the head of the joint press center of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the Tavria area, Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyi, commenting on the developments around near Vuhledar and Bakhmut, according to Ukrinform.
"I’d like to note that the updates (on enemy losses - ed.) are close to the real figures, but some things are not taken into account. The Russians actually do not evacuate their wounded and most of them end up as KIAs. The POWs who are currently in our custody also confirm this," the spokesman said.
Dmytrashkivskyi also noted that it remains difficult to determine the exact death toll after a projectile hits an enemy manpower cluster. Therefore, the spokesman adds, enemy losses may be higher than reported.
Commenting on the situation near Vuhledar and Bakhmut, Dmytrashkivskyi said that the enemy suffered massive losses in the area so the current offensive attempts are not so intense.
"The enemy was advancing, employing large forces but they suffered significant losses. At the moment, the enemy has amassed a certain number of manpower able to inflict damage and attack, but there are not many of them there. The only thing they can do is to pursue ‘harassing fire’ efforts to keep our troops on their toes so that they understand that the enemy is right in front of them. But, in my opinion, there cannot be a full-fledged offensive in these areas now. The enemy has really suffered, and continues to suffer huge losses every day – near both Vuhledar and Bakhmut," emphasized Dmytroshkivskyi.
In particular, according to the spokesman, yesterday, the Russians lost at least two companies worth of killed and wounded in the Vuhledar direction alone.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russia’s military death toll in Ukraine reached over 141,000, including 800 in the past day alone.
