Sixty-one bodies of fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

Sixty-one bodies of the fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Ministry on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today, thanks to the efforts of the Ukrainian Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Ministry and the Office of the Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, sixty-one bodies of the fallen defenders of Ukraine have been brought back to their relatives,” the report states.

The process of returning bodies took place in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.

In general, a total of 888 bodies of the fallen defenders of Ukraine have been returned since the Office of the Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing was established.
