Lithuania hands Ukraine L-70 anti-aircraft guns with ammunition

Lithuania sent Ukraine dozens of L-70 anti-aircraft guns with ammunition and trained Ukrainian instructors in handling these weapons.

The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania reported the news via Facebook, Ukrinform saw.

"The latest Lithuanian military aid for Ukraine is dozens of L-70 anti-aircraft vehicles with ammunition. For the last two weeks, Ukrainian instructors in Lithuania have been participating in training on how to man these guns. They will train even more Ukrainian operators once they return to the country," the statement reads.

It is also noted that, in general, Lithuania plans to train about 1,600 Ukrainian soldiers before year-end. This will help Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. "Lithuania will continue to support Ukraine by all possible means as long as necessary," the country's defense minstry emphasizes.

At the same time, it is reported that Lithuania’s General Jonas Zhemaitis Military Academy is training Ukrainian recruits within junior commander courses. In total, more than 150 junior commanders have already undergone training.

As reported, the L-70 is an automatic anti-aircraft gun developed in Sweden by Bofors. It can destroy enemy planes, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles at a range of up to 5 kilometers under any weather conditions.
