Defense Ministry sees no strike groups in Belarus capable to launch offensive on Kyiv

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has not recorded any formed strike groups on the territory of Belarus that could launch an offensive on Kyiv.

Ministry of Defense Oleksii Reznikov said this at a press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As of today, on the territory of Belarus, we do not see formed strike groups capable of launching an offensive on Kyiv," Reznikov said.

He also emphasized that Russian troops will not be able to capture Kyiv.

"As of today, there is no such concentration of troops there. According to our estimates, no more than 12,000 Russian soldiers are currently at training grounds in Belarus," Reznikov emphasized.

As reported, on January 31, Russia-Belarus joint staff training of the joint command of the regional grouping of troops (forces) began in Belarus.
