Ukraine repels Russia’s attacks near 14 settlements

Yesterday, Ukrainian defenders repelled assault attempts by Russian invaders in the areas of 14 settlements across Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the latest war update on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Over the past day, the enemy launched six missile strikes, four of which hit the civilian infrastructure in Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkivka of Donetsk region, as well as four air strikes. They also fired 73 times using multiple rocket launch systems. Peaceful residents were killed by enemy strikes," the statement reads.

The threat of Russian air and missile strikes remains in place throughout Ukraine, the General Staff warned.

The enemy is actively conducting reconnaissance operations, preparing for an offensive in certain directions. Despite heavy losses, they pursue attempts at offensive actions in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka directions.

As noted, Ukrainian soldiers repelled the attacks in the areas of Novoselivske, Ploshanka, Nevske, Chervonpopivka, Dibrova, Kuzmyne, and Bilohorivka of Luhansk region, and Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vasyukivka, Blagodatne, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, and Klishchiivka of Donetsk region.

No enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions. The invaders shelled the areas of Kliusy and Yeline of Chernihiv region; Muraveynia, Katerynivka, Vovkivka, Oleksandrivka, and Volfyne of Sumy region, and Veterynarne, Strelecha, Hlyboke, Zelene, Neskuchne, Ternova, Ohirtseve, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Budarka of Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy tanks and artillery fired at the areas of Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kupiansk, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, and Pishchane of Kharkiv region, as well as and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka of Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Novoyehorivka, Nevske and Dibrova of Luhansk region and Terny and Serebrianka of Donetsk region also came under enemy fire.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the settlements of Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Ivanovske, Predtechyne, Stupochki, Druzhba, and New York of Donetsk region were in the line of enemy fire.

Severne, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka came under enemy fire in the Avdiivka direction.

In the direction of Novopavlivka, the settlements of Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Novoukrayinka, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Neskuchne of Donetsk region were subjected to artillery fire.

In Zaporizhia region, more than 20 settlements were shelled, including, Vremivka of Donetsk region and Poltavka, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Charivne, Orikhiv, and Novodanylivka of Zaporizhzhia region.

In Kherson direction, Beryslav, Antonivka, and Kherson, as well as Dmytrivka in Mykolayiv region, were hit by artillery fire.

The enemy continues to impose Russian citizenship on Ukrainian nationals in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region. In the city of Horlivka, drivers are being coerced to obtain new, Russian-type licenses, which is impossible if an applicant holds no Russian passport. The invaders set a deadline of May 1, 2023 for the employees of transport enterprises to renew their licenses under the threat of layoffs.

"Missile and artillery units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces over the past day hit a control post, three enemy manpower clusters, and a fuel depot," the General Staff of the Armed Forces concluded.

As reported, since February 24, 2022, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have eliminated nearly 128,420 Russian invaders.
