Ukraine’s Air Force launches 17 strikes on enemy positions

During the day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 14 strikes on the areas of concentration of the Russian invaders and three strikes on the positions of the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 20, published on Facebook.

Ukrainian rocket launchers and gunners, for their part, hit an enemy command post, two concentration areas, and an ammunition depot.

It is emphasized that the invaders do not abandon their intentions to destroy the critical infrastructure of Ukraine, attack civilian objects and the homes of the civilian population, thus violating the norms of international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war. The threat of enemy airstrikes and missile strikes throughout Ukraine remains.

During the day, Russian troops launched 12 airstrikes and 29 MLRS, in particular, on Nikopol. The Russians also hit the civilian infrastructure of the town of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, with missiles twice.

The enemy boosts the intensity of the use of aviation and goes on the offensive in Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Zaporizhzhia directions. The Russians hold the defense in Kupyansk, Lyman, Novopavlivka, and Kherson directions.

The Russian armed forces keep their units in the border areas in Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, but no offensive groups have been detected so far.

Meanwhile, Belarus continues to provide comprehensive support to Russian aggression. In addition to the joint exercises of the Russian aerospace forces and the air force and air defense forces of the Republic of Belarus, the training of Russian units continues in the territory of Belarus.

The invaders keep firing artillery along the entire line of contact. The areas of Volfyne in Sumy region, as well as Huryiva Kozachka, Strilecha, Ternova, Ohirtseve, Budarky, Kamyanka, Fyholivka, and Dvorichna in Kharkiv region, came under the enemy fire.  

In Kupyansk direction, the areas of Tavilzhanka, Orlianka, Kupyansk, Pishchane, and Vyshneve in Kharkiv region, Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region were hit with tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery of the Russian troops.

In Lyman direction, the enemy shelled Novoyehorivka, Nevske, Holykove, Chervonopopivka, Kreminna, and Dibrova in Luhansk region with all available firepower.

In Bakhmut direction, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Pivnichne, Zalizne, Mayorsk in Donetsk region came under the enemy fire.

In Avdiivka direction, the Russians struck Kamyanka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

In Novopavlivka direction, the enemy hit the areas of Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region with tanks and artillery.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region, Olhivske, Huliaypole, Charivne, Novodanylivka, Kamyanske, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region came under tank, mortar, and artillery fire.

In Kherson direction, Russian troops once again shelled Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, Antonivka and Kherson, Kherson region, with tube and rocket artillery. Civilian casualties were reported.

According to the General Staff data, Russian troops intensify regime measures in the temporarily captured territories of Zaporizhzhia region. In particular, in Melitopol, it will be forbidden to cross checkpoints around the city from March 1 without special passes which can be obtained at the so-called commandant's office only after providing personal data.
